Senior Capstone Project
Problem 1
At least 4 out of 5 couples reported severe crisis and stress in adjusting to the birth of their first child.
Problem 2
76% of parents co-sleep with their babies due to exhaustion and 40% admitted to sleeping in risky situations that can cause severe consequences.
Problem 3
Intraditional parenting, at least one is a stay-at-home parent while the other works. In modern parenting, single-parenting has gotten common and dually-employed parents spend less time at home.
the question
How might we reduce day-to-day stress associated with newborn sleep routines among dual-employed first-time parents?
the opportunity
A foldable and movable crib that blends in with the home atmosphere and adapts to various home spaces.
exploration
working on quick mockups for each concept gradually helped me visualize each mechanism in real life context using cardboard and fabric.

5 - install bedding and hook the safety mesh on the sides.
2 - lock in place
4 - push down the wheels from the top and push down to release it.
6 - prepare for co-sleeping, fold down either side where the bedding rests, a bendable wood that stays in place when folded and pops back up when pressure is applied.
